The President has a hit squad of torturers and assassins who operate without oversight from Congress or the Pentagon to violate your 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th, and 14th Amendments rights at the will of the President and his top advisors. This is a power delegated to the Office of the President and not just Obama.
Every Tuesday, dubbed “terror Tuesdays”, the President meets with his top terror advisors who; with no oversight, no transparency, and no accountability, present a list of who should be murdered to the President. He reviews these “baseball cards” then passes regal decrees on who will live and who will die. The process is totally secret. These hit men and women are the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).
JSOC is answerable only to the Office of the President. Its first commander was Army General Stanley McCrystal. In 2003 McCrystal’s Army Rangers merged with Navy Admiral William McRaven’s Seals to form the core of JSOC. This merging of military branches creates a new alliance and sense of loyalty. This force also includes former Academi (Blackwater) employees as well as the Air Forces 24th special tactics squadron. They have their own intelligence service and drones. It was JSOC who captured and interrogated Saddam Hussein prior to turning him over to his enemies for execution. When I heard of “helpful” ISIS assassinations prior to the return to Iraq, I figured it was JSOC.
JSOC has their own Guantemo-style prison called Camp NAMA (Nasty-Ass Military Area). Prisoners are sent there in secret and have no rights. Prisoners are tortured at this prison in Iraq. Some die. When the military investigated NAMA they were threatened, car keys and cameras were taken, and they were ordered to shut up. The final report stated that the prisoners had lied about abuse.
JSOC is authorized to enter countries secretly, kill without the host countries government’s prior knowledge or approval, and then exit with impunity. This places the host countries government in peril of revolution. By 2013 JSOC had assassinated or abducted people from Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan. Somali, Iran, Georgia, Ukraine, Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru, the Philippians, Belgium, France, Spain, and beyond.
JSOC’s attorneys developed the legality of assassinations in April 2009, prior to JSOC snipers killing three Somalia pirates. Before those three shots were fired, lawyers carefully crafted the rules of engagement, laying the groundwork for assassination as US policy. The Joint Unconventional Warfare Task Force (JUWTF) Executive order allows special operations teams to conduct clandestine actions without direct Presidential approval. When they conduct “Special Access Programs”, Congress doesn’t need legal notification. In early 2013 a Department of Justice “white paper” called “Lawfulness of a Lethal Operation Directed Against a US Citizen” justified assassinating US citizens by Presidential decree.
Judge Collen McMahon stated in January 2013. “I can find no way around the thicket of laws and precedents that effectively allow the Executive branch of our Government to proclaim as perfectly legal certain actions that seem on their face incompatible with our Constitution and laws, while making the reasons for their conduct a secret.” CIA case officer Phil Giraldi said that this is a system “where people are being killed, you don’t know what the evidence is, and you have no way to redress the situation.” The secrecy of this unit means that the American people will never know what they are doing in our name.
JSOC doesn’t like exposure or leaving evidence. To the horror of survivors, they have been seen digging bullets out of the bodies of their victims. They have also aided in the arrest and abductions of journalists Abdulelah Shaye and cartoonist Kamal Sharaf. By November 2014 at least 10 people had been murdered in Yemen through secret drone attacks.
JSOC also conducts less secret operations called Vanilla Ops. These actions may include CIA or Academi (Blackwater) operatives who are easy to abandon in a pinch. These people often enjoy the cover of the US Embassy. In 2011 the US Embassy in Pakistan employed 851,297 persons not working “in a diplomatic capacity.”
In September 2011 JSOC murdered two Americans, cleric Anwar Awlaki and citizen Samir Khan. Two weeks later they murdered 16-year-old Abdulrahman Awlaki, son of the cleric. These three Americans were all denied due process of law when they were shot down out of the sky by drones. This could be you – this could be me. There is no law protecting us anymore. Is a country a democratic republic when the leader of the nation can target even his own citizens for execution without any charges or due process, far from any definable battlefield, when there is no true imminent threat to his country? Your citizenship will not protect you. Do we change this now or wait until the wolf is at each of our individual doors? Let me put this in perspective….
“First they came for the Arabs and I did not speak out for I was not an Arab…..” You know the rest. Silence is complicity in our own destruction.
