Let me state up front that I detest misogyny. With that said, I must say that this country is at serious risk. Headlines tell us that 2,300 people are running for office in the upcoming elections—most of them are Republican women. Normally I would be delighted to see the glass ceiling being challenged. However, these women are “Sarah Palin Tea-Baggers,” whose goals are the antithesis of what I believe this country should represent.
What I hold as major tenets of this country, Social Security and Medicare, are at risk of being destroyed. The dissolution of the “Separation of Church and State” cannot be far behind. These people are a real threat to what I see as the fabric of our country.
Between these people and the recent Supreme Court decision that allows corporations to spend freely to influence our election process, unless our citizenry is able to show a greater degree of sophistication and an ability to distinguish hype from reality than I have ever seen before, this country and our lifestyle is doomed. This is not a drill. This IS a life and death situation here.
