In times of cataclysmic change, democracy may be deemed a practical impossibility. Are the armies of the super rich cooking up a disaster that will so traumatize us that we cannot resist their propaganda, that we will become putty in their hands, and they will remake the world?

From the Nixon tapes:

Nixon: I’d rather use the nuclear bomb.

Kissinger: That I think would be too much.

Nixon: I just want you to think big.

Is a “think big” plot in progress? Is the Bilderberg group, the neocons, the US Military, the CIA, the Council of Foreign Relations, the National Association of Manufacturers, or the Trilateral Commission, one or in group, planning the “big one.” Are they planning a shock as Naomi Kline describes in her book the “Shock Doctrine.” If so what will be its nature and can they get away with it? That’s the subject of this essay. I’ll first try to addressthe question: If a plot was in progress, would the media tell us about it?

In 2001 letters containing deadly Anthrax spores were mailed to two Democratic U.S. Senators  and to several news media offices. Five people died. Word soon leaked out of that some of the Anthrax was highly weaponized and came from a U.S. Government laboratory. Weaponized Anthrax vaporizes easily, containing additives that prevent it from forming clumps. According to Barry Kissin, in a talk I heard in September 2009, and in articles that can be found on the internet, the Anthrax was of a type only produced in the Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. He cites newspaper articles, containing statements by prominent scientists, as references. This casts doubt on the FBI’s case against Bruce Ivins, the official suspect, who worked at Fort Detrick, in Maryland. Ivins was hounded by the FBI and committed suicide. How convenient for the government. He kept a log detailing Anthrax shipments showing that he had sent samples to Dugway.

Now the government case against Ivins was shaky, but the New York Times came to its rescue. In a front page article on January 4, 2009. Scott Shane wrote: “The Times review found that the F.B.I. had disproved the assertion, widespread among scientists who believe Dr. Ivins was innocent, that the Anthrax might have come from military and intelligence research programs in Utah or Ohio. By 2004, secret scientific testing established that the mailed anthrax had been grown somewhere near Fort Detrick.” Later on Shane backs up this assertion with: “By early 2004, F.B.I. scientists had discovered that out of 60 domestic and foreign water samples, only water from Frederick, Md., had the same chemical signature as the water used to grow the mailed anthrax.”

The only problem with this statement is that all laboratories involved in the controlled growth of any biological product use distilled water, which has a very simple chemical signature. It’s just water, H20, period. So the NY Times goofed. Recall another goof: In 2003 Judith Miller did a fine piece of creative writing when she described Iraq’s non-existent weapons of mass destruction. Her articles were on the front page. Again the government’s propaganda line was printed as news.

The letter to Senator Daschle contained two grams of Anthrax, each gram containing one trillion spores, enough to kill millions of people if distributed as a fine mist. Fortunately, the envelope was carefully sealed so no Anthrax could escape.

Our bio weapons establishment made a grievous error that could have resulted in many deaths. What was their punishment? Did heads roll? Of course not. In fact the program that generated the Anthrax letters has been expanded by a factor of 20 since 2001. Two new plants have been built in Fort Detrick. A single plant in Kansas has 50,000 square feet of BSL4 (bio safety level 4) lab space, 3 times the total amount existing in 2004. BSL4 space is reserved for deadly bio agents for which there is no known cure. Note that our bio weapons program has been partially privatized, with the Battelle Memorial Institute managing our major labs.

The United States is the only country out of 150 that signed the International Arms Control Bio Weapons Treaty that refused to enter into an inspections and verification protocol. We don’t want inspections of our weapons labs. Should we feel secure when our government is making horrific bio weapons under the control of a private company? Are more “accidental” releases of deadly agents possible? Could a release be the shock that will change our world?

At any rate here we have a case where a man who had no motive, Bruce Ivins, is believed to be the one who released the deadly Anthrax spores, while the government, that was trying to gain support for a “war of terror,” is above suspicion.

Getting back to the media, I’d like to give a few more examples showing that the mass media, with the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Los Angelas Times leading the way, create stories to support the establishment.

Two parties filed freedom of information act requests that the defense department release videos showing a plane hitting the Pentagon on 9/11. Scott Hodes acting for his client, Scott Bingham, was one party and the other was the organization, Judicial Watch. Although Hodes started a few months before Judicial watch, the wheels of justice worked faster for the latter, and the defense department, after initially denying the tapes existed, ran out of excuses and was ordered by a judge to release the tapes to Judicial Watch. Here are some excerpts from the Judicial Watch press release:

“We fought hard to obtain this video because we felt that it was very important to complete the public record with respect to the terrorist attacks of September 11,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

“Finally, we hope that this video will put to rest the conspiracy theories involving American Airlines Flight 77. As always, our prayers remain with all those who suffered as a result of those murderous attacks.”

The video appeared on the Judicial Watch web site and the websites of several news organizations. I looked at the video and could not find a plane. Then I downloaded the video onto my computer and looked at it using my 99 dollar video editing program. Looking frame by frame, I discovered that it wasn’t really a video. It consisted of a group of still photos, mostly previously released in 2002 by the government, with each photo repeated 32 times. There was a new photo added before the time that the 2002 photos began. It showed the Pentagon sitting peacefully in the sun. Another photo was taken after the time of the previous photos, that is, after the explosion. No new useful information had been released.

I called up Judicial Watch and after some effort got to speak to someone who sounded authoritative. I told him that no new information had been released, and the so called video wasn’t really a video.  He replied that Judicial Watch was happy with the video. I repeated it wasn’t a video. He said they were happy.

The major media were all of one voice. They all said that the government had released a video of a plane hitting the Pentagon. I called up FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting). I told them that all the major media had reported that the released video showed a plane hitting the Pentagon, but there was no plane. I volunteered to come in and show them the “video” on my laptop computer. After getting no response for three weeks, after many phone calls, I was finally told that FAIR didn’t consider the story important enough to include in their publication, and besides many people had seen a plane. Later it was shown in Craig Ranke’s video “Security Alert,” from testimony of several eye witnesses, that a low flying plane had flown over the Pentagon but hadn’t hit anything. The media, of course, ignored the evidence. Actually, I can think of one case when the media did not report on a story the president wanted the public to know about. But you have to back to 1934 to find it.

It was in the great depression. A group of very rich people, led by Irenee Dupont, wanted to over throw the government to get rid of FDR. A representative of the group, Gerald McGuire, asked the much decorated general, Smedley Butler, if he would be interested in leading the military arm of the group. Butler was chosen because he was very popular with veterans, being a champion of veteran’s rights. Butler wanted to expose the plot to the government, but feared he wouldn’t be believed. He got a newsman he trusted, Paul French, to interview McGuire. McGuire talked too much and revealed the plot. Then armed with a corroborating witness, Butler exposed the planned coup. Roosevelt didn’t want the plotters arrested. He might have feared a stock market crash or economic disruption.  Instead he formed a congressional committee that heard Butler’s testimony in closed session. Congress had already gotten wind of the plot.  A few months later the committee put out a report revealing the conspiracy. The New York Times and other major newspapers didn’t mention the report. The Times had a short article in the back pages saying that General Butler’s accusation had been confirmed. It surfaced that the plotters planned to involve one million people in the takeover and supply them with arms from the Dupont owned Remington Corporation. During World War 2, Roosevelt would not appoint a military commander for North America because he feared a military take over.

Elements of big business in this country supported Nazi Germany before and during World War 2. They provided financial support for Hitler in the 1920’s and 30’s. In 1940 and 1941 they slowed down the American arms buildup. They even continued supporting Germany during the war by, for example, supplying oil and war materials through neutral countries, as well as slowing down American war production. After the war, Nazi intelligence officers came to work in the CIA. Many were war criminals. They created a fiction that the Russians were about to attack and helped start the cold war. All of this is documented very well in the excellent book “The Nazi Hydra in America” by Glen Yeadon and John Hawkins.

American big business likes fascism because of its support for corporations. American business also controls the press. The point I’m trying to make is that if a big plot is underway, we can’t count on the press to give us any warning. Secondly, big business has no love of democracy. It may want to rule unencumbered by a congress and a free press. President Eisenhauer warned us of the Military Industrial Complex. I’m wondering how far it will go in its never ending quest for money and power. My main concern is that we are likely to have a military take over.

According to a Gallop poll taken in 2008, the approval rating of Congress is 12% while that of the military is 71%. I feel that, as corrupt as Congress is, the military is worse. People are taken in by their pretty uniforms. But in regions where they are in control, narcotics trafficking, mass rape, contract fraud, and torture flourish. Recall it was the Joint Chiefs of Staff that proposed Project Northwoods, a false flag operation that would have blamed Cuba for terrorist acts against America that in fact had been perpetrated by our military itself. I’m talking about the higher ups, not the average soldier. If there was a military takeover, I wonder how many people would mind.

A friend of mine has heard helicopters flying over his house in the early hours of the morning. Such flights have been reported all over the country. Some claim that they are rehearsing for the arrest of potential leaders of a resistance to a military takeover. My friend went to a few town board meetings and complained. The town board claimed that they know nothing about it. A parking lot next to a post office near my home is surrounded by a fence. Two large gates in the fence let cars in and out. They are always left open. A few miles away there’s a water district headquarters. It consists of a small building in a large lot surrounded by a barbed wire fence. The barb wire leans inward.

From the FEMA website:

“National Level Exercise 2009 (NLE 09) is scheduled for July 27 through July 31, 2009. NLE 09 will be the first major exercise conducted by the United States government that will focus exclusively on terrorism prevention and protection, as opposed to incident response and recovery.”

Does terrorism prevention mean locking up potential terrorists, like peace demonstrators and those opposed to the so called free trade agreements? Barry Kissin, the Anthrax activist, is on the terrorist watch list, along with a million others. He and people like him would probably be rounded up and incarcerated if an emergency was declared. Maybe the government plans to make use of all the information they’ve been gathering on us for years through illegal snooping.

Later on in the same bulletin:

“This year the United States welcomes the participation of Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom in NLE 09.”

Will foreign troops be less likely than domestic ones to disobey nasty orders, like pulling people out of their homes in the middle of the night and throwing them into concentration camps?

Then there’s National Security Presidential Directive 51. It claims power to execute procedures for continuity of the federal government in the event of a “catastrophic emergency.” The directive says that, when the president considers an emergency to have occurred, normal government will be suspended, and in essence the president will assume dictatorial rule. Much has been written about this on the internet and I’ll not dwell on it here. Just try one of the search engines and while you are at it look up FEMA coffins, FEMA camps, FEMA trains, chem trails, and red, blue and yellow lists. President Obama has left NSPD 51 intact. Most of NSPD 51 is classified and members of congress have tried but have not been allowed to see it all.

Let’s be pessimistic and assume an emergency is going to be declared. What kind of emergency would it be? I used to think it would be a dirty bomb or bombs. Lately I’ve been thinking it could be a flu pandemic.

On 2/24/09, news outlets announced that Baxter International Inc. had unintentionally send 72 kilos of Flu vaccine contaminated with the deadly Avian flu or H5N1 virus to 4 countries. The vaccine was fed to Ferrets by Bio Test s.r.o. a biotechnology company in the Czech Republic. All the Ferrets died. Avain Flu virus kills about 60 to70% of those infected with it. Fortunately, it does not spread easily from person to person.  If the vaccine had been used, millions might have died. If 2 types of viruses are injected into the same person, both types might invade the same cell and start to reproduce. It’s very possible that in the reproduction process the DNA from one virus will combine with the DNA of the other and form a new virus. It might be a contagious form of  H5N1. Thus the Baxter vaccine, even if given to just a few people, could have been very dangerous. Catastrophe was narrowly averted, just as it was with the Anthrax letters.

Jane Burgermeister, a medical writer living in Austria and others have tried to get the FBI and the Austrian police to prosecute Baxter, but nothing is happening. H5N1 is considered a bio weapon and is stored under the BSL3 regulations which mandates that no one directly handle the substance and that it be kept in a sealed chamber. It’s hard to imagine how H5N1 could have been accidentally been added to a vaccine. It’s something like adding arsenic to a restaurant meal and claiming that it was an accident. You would expect that the restaurant would at least be closed down for a while, but Baxter continues to supply vaccines.

Here’s the scenario I and many others most fear: A deadly virus will start a pandemic. The virus will be spread by vaccination, or at least a deadly vaccine will be deployed. Many will die. The World Health organization and the President will declare emergencies. Martial law will be declared and Congress will be stripped of its power. Those who refuse to take the vaccine will be put into death camps along those who resist military rule. The populations will be reduced by a large factor and a new world order will emerge that’s controlled by international businessmen and the military. Whatever happens, the major media will present it as something benign, temporarily necessary, and nothing to fear, if they mention it at all.

I sincerely hope it’s a paranoid fantasy. I think there are two possibilities. Fascism will emerge in gradual steps or there will be a planned mega jump. So far it’s been advancing mostly in gradual steps, restarting roughly in World War 2 after being in retreat under FDR.  9/11 gave it a big boost with the passage of the Patriot and Military Commissions and other acts. Naomi Klein discusses Milton Friedman’s idea that real change can only occur as the result of a shock. There are plenty of Friedman’s disciples in positions of power.

If enough people build up their immune systems by taking Vitamin D3 and Vitamin C, the flu will not be wide spread and most will not get vaccinated. This might make it hard to convince people that we’re in a crisis. The plotters will then be reluctant to introduce their killer vaccine since it will become apparent that the only ones getting sick are the ones taking the vaccine.

There’s a lot of evidence that the number of flu cases and flu deaths has been greatly exaggerated by the media and the CDC. I hope the purpose of the “propaganda blitz” is to make money selling vaccines and not something more sinister.

I have more questions than answers. I wonder why the wealthy would bother with a military takeover when they now seem to be getting everything they want. For example, the medical reform bill just passed by the House is really a subsidy to the insurance and drug industries.

According to Nomi Prins the financial industry has been bailed out to the tune of at least 14 trillion dollars. (If you read the NY Times you get the impression that they banks received only the TARP money of 700 billion.)

President Obama has clearly shown that he serves the interests of the big money, not the people. He could have bailed out the people instead of the banks and he could have pulled our troops

out of Afghanistan instead of sending more in. He also has forgotten about supporting single payer healthcare and he supports the terrible House healthcare bill. So far he’s done everything that big business told him to do. What if they want to stage a military takeover, will some backbone finally emerge? I think not. I suspect that he was given the Noble Peace Prize to make him a more acceptable dictator.

I want to believe that the world will continue on more or less as it is now. I’m reminded of my attitude towards death. I’m a senior citizen and on an intellectual level I know I’m going to die soon. But emotionally, I can’t take the idea seriously. I know that many millions of people have been slaughtered in the last 100 years by the Germans, Russians, and the Americans. I include America because of the 3 million we killed in Vietnam and probably another 3 million in Iraq. It can’t happen here, I say to myself. We’re America. We own the world. (That’s the title of a book by Noam Chomsky.)  But fascist elements have much influence in this country and I fear that they may wish to expand on some of their past atrocities: for example, sterilizing many thousands of Americans. The eugenics movement started in the US and was copied by Hitler.  The American elite planned to overthrow the government once, so why not again?  I find it especially disturbing that a corrupt government and a private company have control of horrific bio weapons that could be used against us at any time.

To establish democracy in this country, we’ll have to turn off the TV and start getting our information from the internet, books and magazines. I recently saw an Alternet article about a study showing that even the most sophisticated news readers could be manipulated after an  initial period of resistance. It’s called the “time bomb” effect. So after turning off the TV, start acting like citizens in a democracy instead of consumers. When the federal government speaks, any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental. Try to be skeptical no matter how many times a message is repeated. Organize and spread the word. I also suggest talking to your Congressman and demand an investigation of  FEMA’s secret activities. Congress is a potential ally because of its desire to hang onto power.

The powerful countries of the world are using up resources at a rate that cannot be sustained without stealing (getting at bargain prices), the materials they need from the third world. What if the third world got organized as much of South America has, and start demanding fair prices and an end of exploitation? Our standard of living would plummet. Global warming , oil and water shortages, corporate non sustainable farming, the huge waste of resources in warfare,  and the inability of our corrupt institutions to face problems will eventually make it so difficult to get by that popular revolts are inevitable. We have a choice. Either we share the wealth and power and start living sustainably, or we face chaos and starvation. The elites of the world may have decided that they can stay in power only if the world’s population is reduced and a world dictatorship started. The public revulsion of Congress and politicians in general makes us vulnerable for a military take over. I can’t be sure a coup is not planned, so I’m taking the stories of  FEMA camps and FEMA trains, and FEMA gas chambers, chem trails and planned epidemics seriously.
