Excellent points! We knock these nations down and then proclaim the need to "build" a nation. It's a self fulfilling prophecy that the rulers initiating the assaults engage in over and over. Panama is a very good example. When we invaded that country to catch a former U.S. agent, the planning did not include maintaining order after the attack. As a result, there was a couple billion dollars worth of damage in the capitol. That oversight shows the total indifference to the impact on the people. Fast forward to Iraq 2003 and recall that the only institution that received post invasion protection was the oil ministry. Somehow, the museum containing vital records of the dawn of Western civilization was somehow forgotten. That was just the start -- no power, no jobs, no money, and 1,000,000 murdered civilians in civil strife sparked by the invasion.
